They are carefully selected through an array of examinations utilized by us that come from years of experience and knowledge; thus ensuring we are selecting the finest caliber of canines available today. On a typical European trip, we will travel to 4 or 5 different countries such as The Netherlands, Slovak, Germany, Belgium and Austria to test and select dogs of the finest qualities. We strive for perfection on all the dogs we test to import. We guarantee our dogs to be of the highest standards. We have consistently been one of the largest importers and trainers in the United States throughout the last 26 years. Explosive Detection
Since the unfortunate incidents of September 11, 2001, the demand for explosive trained canines has been unprecedented. Due to his overwhelming demand for security, many companies emerged, leading you to question the credibility of some of these quickly established new companies.It is imperative when hiring an explosive detection company that you research their credentials, if possible request a demonstration, ensure Management and all handlers have access to all security locations with TWIC identifications and/or Port required Identification. Make sure the canines they use are trained using the highest possible standards and that both the handler(s) and canines are certified. Metro Dade K9 Training Facility is one of the only companies in the U.S that has always provided explosive trained canines. In additional to conventional training, we train explosive odor pursuit "EOP" and suspect odor pursuit "SOP" canine teams. We pride ourselves, not only on the quality of our dogs. We are second to none in the industry! Our explosive trained canines are not trained to detect narcotics or humans. Our canine’s teams are highly trained and certified to detect explosive components only. We currently service clients internationally with our certified explosive detection canine teams. We have worked extensively with the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Customs Service and the U.S. State Department. Prior to the commencement of our services, we meet with everyone involved-the client, local and federal agencies. Our canine handlers are trained to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) which are activated based on location, client and local and federal agency requirements.

Narcotic Detection
We work with you in your commitment to keep illegal narcotics out of the workplace. We offer a variety of plans for employers to detect any employee using, shipping or selling illegal drugs in the workplace. Our methods can be used to sweep office complexes, schools, factories, warehouses, aircraft, ships and parking lots. We tailor our service to meet your needs. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our courteous and knowledgeable staff is bound by a confidentiality agreement and fully understands the need for discreet services for your company. We will work around your schedule; we can perform searches during prime working hours to maximize the effectiveness of this deterrent program, or we can perform our searches during non-intrusive work hours. Our canine team will be escorted only to the areas where your company desires the search to be completed. The team will search for illegal substances such as cocaine (powder and crack), heroin, marijuana, crystal methadone and MDMA (ecstasy). The handler will mark the areas the canine has pinpointed and your representative can make arrangements to open the contents after the search is completed. Garrison & Sloan is not affiliated with any law enforcement agency. Your company will be given a report to aid in any further investigation. It is up to you to adhere to the policies your organization has a place to deal with the detection of illegal narcotics. Police Dogs
Most of our dogs are imported from Europe or bred at our facility from European Imports we have selected. Tony Guzman personally selects the dogs to ensure you are getting the best quality dog for your money. Our dogs consist of Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds and Labrador Retrievers.We provide green dogs through trained/titled dogs. Our dogs are guaranteed for health and performance. All Police dogs that go to any Police Dept in the State of Florida are guaranteed to pass the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Certification. We have evaluators that will come to the facility for FDLE certification upon completion of training.
We always have dogs available. We have dogs arriving at least once a month from Europe. |

Man and Dog Teams - Security
We can provide your company with licensed canine teams to be used in various security scenarios. We clear areas prior to high profile events, businesses that may or may not be under threat, venues, stadiums, parks, etc. Drastic measures are taken by threatening individuals to enter into these areas at all times. It is our job to ensure it does not happen. Our canine team programs prepares dogs and handlers to serve on the front lines of America's War on terrorists and smugglers. These very effective, mobile teams can quickly locate and identify dangerous subjects that may present a threat to any area. Just as important, they can quickly rule out the presence of dangerous materials in unattended packages, structures or vehicles, allowing the free and well-organized flow of a daily commerce. All of our personnel are either active or retired military and/or Law Enforcement. They have extended daily experience throughout all types of scenarios that may be a threat to your normal daily operations. We pair our handlers with the dogs that are bred and imported specifically from Europe for security and/or police work. We use German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherds and Labradors because of their intense noses and affinity for this type of job. Our dogs are social and not vicious to any environment. They are trained to locate and identify a wide variety of dangerous materials while working as an effective unit. They always meet the adverse security challenge that due diligence requires for any type of situation.

Obedience
Our obedience program is a program that lasts approximately 6 to 9 weeks. We only take a very limited amount of dogs for obedience training during the months of October through April. We don't take any dogs in for obedience training throughout the summer months. During the obedience program, we teach the dogs to behave properly in a home environment, omit distractions and prevent accidents waiting to happen. Our dogs are trained by the same professional trainers that train our police dogs. The dogs must be a minimum of 6 months old to ensure the dog has enough maturity to stay in a kennel environment and allow us to train him/her properly. During their time in training, we request there is no interaction between the owners and their canine partner so we can create the bond necessary for training and earn the trust of the dog for complete effective results. Once he/she has completed their training, the owners will be given lessons to effectively learn how to work and give the proper commands so the obedience process will be a successful one. Protection Training
When Tony puts his name on a protection dog, he strives for perfection. Many people have come to know a protection dog from Metro Dade K9 Services as "A GUZMAN DOG" .
Due to this degree of expectation and the work and time we put into the dogs we sell at Metro Dade, we are currently not accepting dogs for protection training unless they exclusively come from our facility. However, we will be happy to evaluate your dog to see if he/she has the necessary qualification to be trained as a protection dog. Puppies
We usually have top quality puppies from excellent bloodlines available during certain times of the year. If we have an up-coming litter, we will post in the website immediately. We do start taking deposits as soon as we know the female is pregnant. Our litters consist of any of the following breeds:
